Tesla owners have referral codes. Potential buyers can use those referral codes to get discounts/savings on Tesla products.
In return, owners whose referral codes get used, may be rewarded with certain goodies by Tesla.

How is a referral code selected on the Get Code page?
A
A total count of all active referral codes in our database is determined. We than randomly select a number from 1 to the total count, and pull that record from our database.

But can't the same code be randomly selected multiple times in a row?
A
As our database of referral codes grows, the chance of that happening is becoming less and less likely. But yes, technically it is possible.
For that reason, we've also implemented a first-in, first-out queueing approach,
which helps track the latest selected codes and make sure they're not selected again in the subsequent several requests.

I have a question for the owner whose referral code I'm using. How do I contact them?
A
We try to protect everyone's identity. However we recognize there are valid reasons for contacting owners.
